Ilex, commonly known as holly, has an interesting story. Legend says that holly was once a vibrant and dashing tree. But one winter, he fell in love with a beautiful snowflake and gave up his green attire to become a snowy white tree. The two lovers danced in the winter breeze, enchanting everyone who saw them. However, when spring arrived, holly realized his mistake and yearned to return to his former glory. Hearing his plea, Mother Nature granted him the ability to change his color with the seasons. Since then, holly has alternated between green and white, a symbol of transformation and eternal love.
